IEEE GTBIT SB and IEEE DTU SB are two of the largest technical societies at GTBIT and DTU, respectively. Both focus on fostering technical excellence, professional development, and innovation through workshops, conferences, and competitions. These societies provide students with opportunities to explore emerging technologies, enhance skills, and network with industry professionals, playing a key role in their engineering journey.
IEEE Day is an occasion celebrated every year during the month of October. IEEE DTU and GTBIT come together this year with 2 physical venues, the respective campuses, to increase their networking opportunities and technical capabilities with an audience of over 5000 college students and a reach all across the colleges of North India.
Speedathon is an in-person hackathon focused on rapid prototyping, where participants transform ideas into working products in just 3 hours.
Using vibe-coding tools like Lovable.dev and more, the event celebrates speed, creativity, and problem-solving. With exciting cash prizes and internship opportunities up for grabs, it’s the ultimate challenge to test how fast you can build.
Dream Forge – IEEE DTU’s Case Study Challenge is designed to test analytical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills of students by presenting them with real-world business scenarios.
Participants work in teams to analyze a case, develop innovative and feasible solutions, and present their ideas before an expert jury. The competition encourages critical reasoning, impactful decision-making, and clear communication, while giving students an opportunity to showcase their strategic mindset.
Tinkercase 3.0 – Hardware Showcase Competition is a premier platform for undergraduate and postgraduate engineering students to demonstrate innovative hardware projects built using microcontrollers, embedded systems, and smart technologies.
Covering domains such as Smart Cities, Healthcare, UAVs, Safety & Security, Agritech, and more, the competition emphasizes creativity, technical feasibility, and real-world impact. Shortlisted teams will present their fully assembled prototypes in the offline hardware showcase round.

IEEE Day is an annual event that celebrates the anniversary of all the IEEE members gathered to share technical ideas, organise interesting events and provide networking opportunity for all the students. It promotes the mission of IEEE to foster technological innovation for the benefit of humanity.
IEEE Day will be held in October every year. This year we are organizing it on 9-11th October 2025 at GTBIT and DTU
: IEEE Day is open to all students, IEEE members, and even non-members who are interested to be a part.
IEEE Day typically includes everything you need from workshops, seminars, hackathons, technical talks to webinars, networking sessions, competitions, and other collaborative events.
Everyone can participate in IEEE Day events, whether they are a member or not.
By attending IEEE Day, students can network with professionals, learn about the latest technological trends, participate in skill-building workshops, and connect with other like minded people and industry mentors.
IEEE Day provides students with the opportunity to showcase their innovative ideas, collaborate with peers and have fun activities with friends.
Many IEEE Day events offer participation certificates or recognition, especially for competitions, workshops, and leadership roles in organizing the event.
